i-Medical® intraocular lenses (IOLs) are surgical implants made from a high-quality biocompatible material designed to substitute the human lens. They are manufactured, ground and surface-treated from one piece.

i-Medical® i-Flex AS aspherical IOLs are manufactured in the sharp-edge design to reduce or prevent clouding of the remaining capsular bag with cell proliferation (after-cataract). In addition, these IOLs have a UV blocker to reduce the high-energy light in the ultraviolet light spectrum. i-Medical® i-Flex AS aspherical posterior chamber intraocular lenses also compensate for spherical aberration of the cornea.

The light can be extracted using extracapsular methods and/or by means of phacoemulsification. The monofocal foldable IOL made from hydrophilic acrylic is available from 18.0 to 30.0 dioptres in increments of 0.5. The optical quality and dioptre strength of each individual IOL is checked individually.
